Job Overview
We are looking for a friendly, reliable, and enthusiastic Office Junior to join our busy GP practice team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to start or develop a career in administration within the NHS. Full training will be provided.
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing front-line reception duties, supporting administrative tasks, and ensuring smooth daily operations. Organisation, attention to detail, and strong communication skills are essential for this position.
Duties
- Providing a warm and professional reception service to patients and visitors.
- Answering telephone enquiries and directing calls appropriately with excellent phone etiquette
- Handle data entry tasks accurately using EMIS, Docman applications
- Maintain organised records and filing systems, both digital and physical
- Booking and managing patient appointments
- Support the team with administrative tasks such as photocopying, scanning, and document preparation
- Maintaining accurate patient records.
- Carrying out a variety of administrative and clerical tasks
Experience
- Previous office experience or administrative background is preferred but not essential; training will be provided
- Excellent communication skills with good phone etiquette
- Proficiency in computer skills including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Experience with data entry is advantageous
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
- Demonstrated organisational ability with attention to detail in a clerical setting. Pay: £10.85-£12.71 per hour
