Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Motor Mechanic to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of motor vehicles and equipment. This role requires a strong mechanical aptitude, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team. The Motor Mechanic will play a vital role in ensuring our vehicles and machinery operate safely and effectively, supporting the smooth running of our operations. We require 5 years mechanical experience.
Duties
- Conduct thorough inspections of vehicles and equipment to identify faults or issues.
- Interpret technical diagrams, schematics, and manuals to facilitate accurate repairs.
- Perform repairs and maintenance on engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension systems, and other mechanical components.
- Engine rebuilds experience including timing chain / belt replacements is required in this job role.
- Utilise hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment to carry out assembly, disassembly, and repair tasks.
- Carry out welding and fabrication work as required for repairs or modifications.
- Maintain detailed records of all work carried out for compliance and future reference.
- Assist with the installation of new equipment or components as needed.
- Ensure all work is completed in accordance with safety standards and manufacturer specifications.
- Provide excellent customer service by explaining repairs and maintenance procedures clearly to clients.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Motor Mechanic or similar role with a solid understanding of vehicle systems.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to read technical schematics accurately.
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and assembly techniques.
- Experience with vehicle maintenance, equipment repair, and troubleshooting complex mechanical issues.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently during repair tasks.
- Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail in record keeping and diagnostics.
- Good communication skills for customer interactions and teamwork.
- Relevant qualifications or certifications in motor mechanics or automotive technology are preferred but not essential.
