Overview
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our innovative engineering team. Duties
- Lead the design and development of mechanical systems, ensuring compliance with project specifications and industry standards.
- Conduct root cause analysis to identify issues within mechanical components or systems and implement effective corrective actions.
- Develop detailed schematics and technical drawings using CAD software such as SolidWorks and GD&T principles to ensure precise manufacturing and assembly.
- Utilise simulation tools like Simulink and MATLAB to model system behaviour, perform performance analysis, and optimise designs.
- Program and troubleshoot programmable logic controllers (PLCs) to automate machinery operations, ensuring seamless integration with mechanical systems.
- Create detailed system schematics and documentation for manufacturing, assembly, and maintenance purposes.
- Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to develop system design concepts that meet functional requirements while adhering to safety standards.
- Oversee prototype testing, analyse results, and refine designs based on empirical data collected through LabVIEW or similar measurement systems.
- Provide technical guidance on the utilisation of CAD tools, including SolidWorks and CAD-based simulation software, for project development.
- Ensure all engineering activities comply with quality standards, safety regulations, and best practices within the industry.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in mechanical engineering with a focus on system design, automation, or related fields.
- Strong proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks and general schematic development skills.
- Experience with MATLAB, Simulink, LabVIEW, and other simulation or data acquisition tools is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of programmable logic controllers (PLCs), their programming languages, and troubleshooting techniques.
- Familiarity with GD&T standards for precise mechanical drawings and manufacturing communication.
- Solid understanding of mechanical principles combined with practical experience in system integration and design validation.
- Ability to perform root cause analysis effectively and implement corrective actions swiftly.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
- A recognised degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline is essential; additional certifications or specialised training will be advantageous.

Pay: £26,000.00-£55,000.00 per year
