Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Bar Manager with a real passion for cocktails and excellent wine knowledge to join our independent destination restaurant & bar in Chobham near Woking.
We are looking for a dynamic and charming personality who is looking to have input into service and love drinks & food as much as we do! Awarded for the past 6 years the Tripadvisor Certificate of Excellence and Opentable Diners Choice Award, we work hard to achieve the highest standards of service. Our menu emphasis is on great quality and best of British produce menu locally sourced including produce from our own garden. So we aim to serve high quality food along with creative cocktails, fine wines, all spirits and selected beers to work in combination with our menu. We aim to serve 400 covers per week with the focus on quality, high attention to detail and a fine level of stylish service with personality.
This is a hands on role for someone with ideally both bar and restaurant experience to grow and develop as our business develops. As part of a small front of house team, the role is working an average 4 days per week (closed Mondays/Tuesday/Wedneday generally), average 40 to 45 hours per week for full time.
Duties
- Overall creation, management and operation of all drinks products including preparation of wine & drinks menus.
- Maintenance and management of appropriate stock levels.
- Prepare and serve a variety of beverages in accordance with standard recipes and customer preferences.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the bar area in compliance with food safety standards.
- Engage with guests to create a friendly atmosphere, promoting repeat business and positive reviews.
- Leadership & training for front of house team for all elements relating to drinks and service.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in hospitality or serving roles, ideally within a bar and restaurant setting.
- Excellent knowledge of wines, cocktails & spirits in order to achieve targeted drink financial targets.
- Knowledge of food safety standards and responsible alcohol service practices.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage courteously with diverse customers.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage time effectively during busy periods.
- A personable attitude with a genuine enthusiasm for providing outstanding customer service.

Pay: £35,000.00-£45,000.00 per year
