Step Into Teaching is working with a welcoming secondary school in Nottingham to recruit an enthusiastic and committed Graduate Teaching Assistant for a September start.
This is an excellent opportunity to gain genuine classroom experience while making a positive difference to students' academic progress, confidence and wellbeing.
The Role
As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will work alongside experienced teachers and support students across the school.
Your responsibilities may include:
- Supporting teachers during lessons.
- Working one-to-one and with small groups of students.
- Helping students understand and complete classroom tasks.
- Supporting students who require additional academic or pastoral support.
- Providing targeted support to students with SEND.
- Helping students remain focused, motivated and engaged.
- Supporting positive behaviour and classroom routines.
- Building strong and professional relationships with students.
- Helping prepare classroom resources and activities.
- Encouraging students to develop confidence and independence.

Degrees in English, Maths, Science, Psychology, Sociology, History, Geography, Sports, Languages, Education or Humanities can be particularly relevant.
Previous experience working with young people is desirable but not essential. Experience through tutoring, mentoring, coaching, childcare, volunteering, youth work or university societies can all be valuable.
