Overview
We are seeking a reliable and motivated Warehouse Operative to join our dynamic logistics team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of warehouse activities, including materials handling, stock management, and shipping & receiving processes. Duties
- Handling materials efficiently using appropriate equipment and techniques
- Operating forklifts and other warehouse machinery safely and effectively
- Managing stock levels through accurate picking, packing, and stocking procedures
- Assisting with the loading and unloading of goods from lorries or containers
- Utilising warehouse management systems to track inventory movements and update records
- Conducting quality control checks to ensure products meet company standards
- Organising shipping and receiving documentation for outgoing and incoming goods
- Maintaining a clean, organised, and safe warehouse environment at all times
- Supporting mechanical maintenance tasks as required to ensure equipment functionality
Skills
- Proven experience in materials handling, picking & packing, stock management, or similar roles within a warehouse setting
- Competence in operating forklift trucks and familiarity with warehouse machinery is highly desirable
- Knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) for inventory tracking and order processing
- Strong understanding of shipping & receiving procedures and documentation requirements
- Mechanical knowledge beneficial for basic maintenance or troubleshooting equipment issues
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently during load & unload operations
- Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail for quality control tasks
- Physical stamina to work in a physically demanding environment throughout shifts

Pay: £10.85-£12.71 per hour
