We are looking for a reliable and professional Vehicle Recovery Driver to join our team.
This role involves attending breakdowns and recovery jobs, safely loading and transporting vehicles, and assisting customers at the roadside. We operate on behalf of major recovery organisations and insurance companies, so professionalism, good communication and a strong focus on customer service are essential.
Previous vehicle recovery experience would be a significant advantage, but it is not essential. Full training can be provided to the right person.
The Role
Your duties will include:
- Attending vehicle breakdowns and recovery jobs
- Safely loading, securing and transporting cars and light commercial vehicles
- Carrying out basic roadside assistance where appropriate
- Completing vehicle condition checks and job paperwork accurately
- Communicating professionally with customers, control staff and clients
- Looking after your allocated recovery vehicle and equipment
- Carrying out daily vehicle and equipment safety checks
- Working safely at the roadside and following company procedures
- Representing BVS Rescue Services professionally at all times
What We're Looking For
We are looking for someone who is:
- Reliable, punctual and able to work independently
- Calm and professional when dealing with customers
- Comfortable working at the roadside and in different weather conditions
- Confident driving larger vehicles
- Safety-conscious and willing to learn
- Able to use a smartphone/tablet for receiving and updating jobs
- Able to work well as part of a team
Previous experience in vehicle recovery, roadside assistance, breakdown services, towing, transport or the motor trade would be beneficial but is not required.
Licence Requirements
Applicants will need a valid UK driving licence suitable for the vehicle they will be operating.
We operate both 3.5-tonne and 7.5-tonne recovery vehicles.

Experience
Vehicle recovery experience: Preferred, but not essential
Full training can be provided for the right candidate, so we are happy to consider applicants looking to start a career within the vehicle recovery industry.

Vehicle recovery is more than simply driving a recovery truck. You will often be dealing with customers who have broken down, been involved in an accident or are in a stressful situation. We therefore need someone who can remain calm, helpful and professional while carrying out the recovery safely and efficiently.
