We are seeking a skilled Vehicle Technician to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical aptitude and be proficient in the use of various tools and equipment. As a Vehicle Technician, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining vehicles to ensure they operate efficiently and safely. Your role will involve working closely with customers to provide exceptional service and support.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and troubleshoot vehicle issues using appropriate tools and equipment.
- Perform repairs and maintenance on a variety of vehicles, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
- Assemble components and systems as required, utilising hand tools and power tools effectively.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, including parts used and time spent on repairs.
- Communicate with customers regarding vehicle status, repair options, and recommendations for maintenance.
- Interpret schematics to understand vehicle systems and components for effective troubleshooting.
- Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance to prolong vehicle lifespan.
- Assist in heavy lifting tasks as necessary during repairs or maintenance activities.
- Weld components as needed to ensure structural integrity of vehicles.
Skills
- Strong mechanical knowledge with experience in equipment repair.
- Proficient in the use of hand tools and power tools relevant to vehicle maintenance.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients.
- Ability to assemble, maintain, and repair various vehicle systems efficiently.
- Familiarity with reading schematics for diagnosing vehicle issues accurately.
- Capability to perform heavy lifting as part of the repair process.
- Welding skills are advantageous but not mandatory.
