About the role
In this role, you will lead the strategy, development, optimisation and governance of Balfour Beatty UK's digital learning ecosystem, ensuring learning technologies and digital solutions enable workforce capability, skills development and business performance.
Acting as the organisation's subject matter expert for learning technologies, the Digital Learning Manager will own the performance, roadmap and continuous improvement of the Learning Management System (LMS), Learning Experience Platform (LXP) and associated learning technologies.
In this role, you will leverage learner insight, analytics, automation and emerging technologies, including AI, to enhance the employee learning experience and maximise business impact.
What you'll be doing
- Lead the strategy for the development of a digital learning ecosystem including LMS and future LXP solutions.
- Lead through the team to maintain governance processes, standards and quality controls for digital learning content and learning technologies.
- Lead through the team to ensure all compliance, mandatory and role-specific learning requirements are effectively deployed, monitored and reported across BBUK.
- Lead through the team to optimise organisational reporting, dashboards and analytics relating to learning compliance, learner engagement and platform performance.
- Work with content owners to support innovation in digital learning content, retiring out of date digital learning and exploring opportunities to bring learning content in line with current thinking.
- Lead through the team to ensure that learning content remains accurate, current, compliant and aligned with organisational requirements.
- Lead through the team to ensure that quality assurance processes for digital learning content, including accessibility, consistency, branding and user experience standards in maintained.
- Support audit, assurance and regulatory requirements through robust learning governance and reporting processes.
- Lead operational relationships with LMS providers and external learning technology suppliers.
- Support the development of business cases, requirements gathering, procurement activity, vendor evaluation and delivery planning for future LMS/LXP solutions.
- Stay informed of developments within the digital learning industry, identifying opportunities to leverage artificial intelligence, automation, personalised learning and emerging technologies.
- Collaborate with colleagues responsible for eLearning development to ensure learning content and technology platforms work seamlessly together.
- Support projects related to digital capability, learning experience design and wider workforce development initiatives.
- Ensure digital learning solutions meet accessibility standards and provide an inclusive learning experience for all employees.
- Provide high-quality consultancy and support to stakeholders, managers and learners regarding learning technology and digital learning services.
