Are you a Welsh-speaking Teaching Assistant looking for flexible work in the Pwllheli area? We’re looking for enthusiastic and caring individuals who are passionate about supporting children in the classroom while promoting the Welsh language.
As a Supply Teaching Assistant, you'll have the flexibility to choose when you work while gaining experience across a variety of welcoming primary schools.
What You'll Be Doing
- Supporting pupils on a one-to-one basis or in small groups during literacy, numeracy and topic lessons through the medium of Welsh.
- Helping children build confidence, stay engaged and reach their full potential.
- Preparing classroom resources and assisting with day-to-day classroom organisation.
- Working closely with the class teacher to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Encouraging positive behaviour and helping pupils stay focused throughout the school day.
- Recording pupil progress and sharing observations with teachers and the ALNCo/SENCo where appropriate.
- Supervising pupils during break and lunchtime, ensuring their safety and wellbeing.
What We're Looking For
- Fluent Welsh speaker, with the confidence to support learning through the medium of Welsh.
- Experience working with children in a school, nursery, childcare, sports coaching or similar setting.
- A patient, positive and adaptable approach to supporting young learners.
- Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable but not essential.
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one.
- A good understanding of safeguarding responsibilities and child protection procedures.
