4 days in the office and 1 day WFH

JOB PURPOSE
The role of the Purchase Ledger Assistant is to support the team with processing invoices and dealing with billing queries, purchase orders and expenses, and to assist with supplier queries and ensuring suppliers are paid on time.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Enter supplier invoices Run weekly aged creditors and ensure that suppliers are paid in a timely manner
Request statements by telephone, email & letter within agreed timescales
Communicate with suppliers on a daily basis and maintain a good professional relationship
Handle disputed invoices and update all pending queries
Provide accurate advice on invoice/billing queries
Updating purchase ledger information using internal software and reconciling the books
Opening supplier’s account with correct information and approval
Process employee expenses
Reconcile credit card statements
Ensuring all filings and scanning are done correctly and accurately
Updating cash books and running BACS, transfers, and cheques
Complete month-end process as required
To produce work such as letters, databases, spreadsheets, reports, and presentations, in draft form using MS Office applications.
Provide cover for team members during periods of annual leave
Provide accounts support to the team as and when required –including answering the telephone, taking messages, photocopying, word processing, etc.
REQUIREMENTS
3 GCSEs or NVQ/AAT Level 2/3or equivalent
IT literate and able to use MS Office (Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook)
Have excellent organizational skills, ability to prioritize, work under pressure, and meet set deadlines
A willingness to work flexibly
Basic accounting knowledge
A positive and professional attitude
Ability to work on your initiative, independently, and be a team player
Clear verbal and written communication with a good command of English ensuring accuracy at all times
Integrity, and an ability to deal with and recognize confidential and sensitive information as well as work in a friendly and professional manner
Pay: £26,000.00 per year
