We are looking for exceptional Waking Night Support Workers to join our team at Salmond Road, a specialist supported-living service for young women making the important transition from school into adult life.
This is an opportunity to become part of something special: supporting young women to develop confidence, independence, relationships, life skills and meaningful adult lives.
The young women we support are autistic and/or have learning disabilities and may require skilled support with communication, emotional regulation, sensory needs, health, personal care, safety and developing independence.
More Than a Waking Night Role
Our Waking Night Support Workers are skilled and valued members of the team who make an important contribution to the quality, safety, development and outstanding performance of the service.
Alongside providing responsive, person-centred support throughout the night, quieter periods are used purposefully. You will contribute to:
- Providing skilled, individualised support when someone wakes or requires assistance, reassurance or emotional and sensory regulation.
- Understanding and implementing support plans, communication approaches, health guidance and risk-management strategies.
- Producing high-quality records that demonstrate the support provided, risks managed, progress made and outcomes achieved.
- Completing agreed quality, safety and compliance audits and identifying actions for improvement.
- Reviewing records and documentation to identify gaps, patterns, emerging concerns and examples of excellent practice.
- Checking that support plans, risk assessments and guidance are current, accessible and being followed.
- Contributing to quality assurance, continuous improvement and evidence of outstanding practice.
- Preparing resources and visual supports to enable meaningful engagement, communication and independence.
- Researching activities, events and community opportunities that could enrich the young women’s lives.
- Completing appropriate environmental, health and safety and infection-prevention checks.
- Ensuring the environment is organised and ready for a positive, calm and purposeful start to the day.
- Providing excellent handovers so important information, observations and actions flow seamlessly between night and day teams.

Who Are We Looking For?
We are looking for people who are kind, calm, observant, organised, reliable, reflective and professionally curious.
Experience supporting autistic people or people with learning disabilities, complex support needs or working waking nights would be an advantage. However, attitude, values and a genuine desire to learn are equally important.
You will receive a comprehensive induction, specialist training, supervision and ongoing professional development to help you become confident and skilled in your role.
