Join Our Team as an Internal Compliance Officer
We are looking for an organised and proactive Compliance Officer to support the effective operation of our compliance systems and processes. Working closely with the Internal Compliance Manager and teams across the business, you will help maintain accurate compliance records, support internal auditing, coordinate training and monitor actions to ensure established requirements are consistently understood and applied.
This is a varied role suited to someone with excellent attention to detail, strong interpersonal skills and the confidence to follow up actions and challenge non-compliance constructively.
What You’ll Do:
- Maintain controlled compliance documentation, records, training information and electronic systems, ensuring information remains accurate, current and readily retrievable.
- Monitor compliance activities across relevant departments, maintaining trackers and dashboards and highlighting overdue actions, potential non-conformances and emerging risks.
- Support the internal audit programme by coordinating audit arrangements, conducting assigned routine or preliminary audits and accurately recording evidence and findings.
- Monitor corrective actions arising from audits and other compliance activities, following up with action owners and escalating significant or overdue issues where appropriate.
- Coordinate compliance-related training, maintain accurate training records and follow up outstanding requirements with employees and departments.
- Deliver training on established compliance processes and systems when appropriately trained and authorised, and provide employees with practical guidance on established requirements.
- Build constructive relationships across operational and support teams, communicating compliance requirements clearly and helping ensure they are applied without creating unnecessary barriers to operations.
- Identify recurring issues and opportunities to improve compliance processes, documentation, systems and training, supporting the implementation of approved improvements.
What We’re Looking For:
- Strong organisational and administrative skills, with the ability to maintain accurate records and manage several activities simultaneously.
- Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach to documentation, data and record keeping.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare clear reports and present compliance information accurately.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the confidence to build constructive working relationships with employees across different departments and levels of the organisation.
- The ability to follow up outstanding actions and challenge non-compliance professionally, constructively and proportionately.
- The ability to interpret documented procedures, standards and process requirements and identify discrepancies, risks or potential areas of non-compliance.
- Confidence using standard office software, spreadsheets and electronic record or workflow systems.
- The ability to work independently within established procedures while recognising when an issue requires management guidance or escalation.
- A willingness to learn organisation-specific processes, technical requirements and relevant compliance standards.
- Willingness and ability to undertake compliance activities, assessments and training during production night-shift operations when required.
