Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Room Leader/Deputy Nursery Manager to join our vibrant childcare team. This role involves supporting the management of daily nursery operations, leading a team of early years practitioners, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality care and education for children. Responsibilities
- Assist the Nursery Manager in overseeing daily nursery activities and ensuring smooth operational functioning.
- Lead and supervise a team of nursery practitioners, providing guidance, support, and mentorship to promote best practices in childcare.
- Plan, implement, and evaluate age-appropriate activities that stimulate children’s learning and development in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
- Ensure the safety and wellbeing of all children by maintaining high standards of hygiene, safety procedures, and risk assessments.
- Foster positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues through effective communication and personalised care approaches.
- Support staff development by organising training sessions and encouraging continuous professional development.
- Maintain accurate records of children's progress, attendance, and behavioural notes in compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Contribute to creating an inclusive environment that respects diversity and promotes equality for all children and families.
- Ensure compliance with nursery policies, procedures, and statutory regulations at all times.
Skills
- Proven management and leadership experience within a childcare or nursery setting.
- Strong understanding of early childhood development principles and childcare best practices.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written, with the ability to liaise effectively with children, parents, and team members.
- Demonstrated ability to work well under pressure whilst maintaining attention to detail.
- Passionate about working with children and committed to their holistic development.
- Organised with excellent planning skills to manage daily routines efficiently.
- Valid driving licence is desirable for transporting children or attending external meetings or training sessions.
- Knowledge of current safeguarding policies and procedures relevant to early years settings.
