Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and energetic MIG Welder to join our fabrication team. In this role, you will be responsible for performing high-quality welding operations using Metal Inert Gas (MIG) techniques to assemble and repair metal components. Responsibilities
- Set up welding equipment, including selecting appropriate settings for different materials and thicknesses
- Perform MIG welding on various metals, including steel and aluminum, following detailed specifications and safety standards
- Use hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment to prepare materials for welding, such as cutting, grinding, and shaping sheet metal and other components
- Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and assembly instructions to ensure accurate fabrication
- Conduct quality checks on welded joints for strength, appearance, and compliance with standards
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety protocols at all times
- Assist in assembly processes by fitting parts together accurately before welding
Skills
- Proficiency in MIG welding techniques with a strong understanding of welding standards
- Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, and sheet metal fabrication equipment effectively
- Mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot equipment issues quickly and efficiently
- Basic math skills for measuring materials accurately and calculating dimensions
- Familiarity with assembly processes and mechanical components
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on safety, quality, and efficiency
