These roles are ideal for graduates who have experience working within a classroom setting and are looking to develop their skills, gain further experience within education and explore a future career in teaching.
The Role
As a Graduate Cover Supervisor, you will support schools by supervising classes when the regular teacher is unavailable. You will be provided with prepared work and will be responsible for ensuring students remain engaged, focused and on task throughout the lesson.
You will need to be confident leading a classroom independently, following lesson plans and maintaining a positive and purposeful learning environment.
Opportunities are available on a day-to-day, short-term and long-term basis, providing flexibility alongside the opportunity to build valuable experience within a secondary school environment.
We are looking for graduates who:
- Have previous experience working within a classroom or educational setting
- Have a strong academic background in their specialist subject
- Are passionate about education and interested in pursuing a career in teaching
- Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Have strong behaviour management skills
- Are confident leading a class independently
- Can follow and deliver prepared lesson materials effectively
- Are reliable, professional and adaptable
- Can build positive relationships with students
- Are confident working with students across KS3 and KS4
- Are able to respond calmly and confidently to challenging behaviour
- Are enthusiastic about supporting students to achieve their potential
- Right to work in the UK
- Enhanced DBS (Child Workforce) — on the Update Service or willingness to apply
- Minimum GCSE qualifications for roles below Cover Supervisor level
