We're looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Apprentice Administration Assistant to join our busy construction and maintenance team in Scorrier.
This is a fantastic opportunity to earn while you learn, gaining hands-on experience in a professional office environment while working towards a recognised Administration qualification delivered by Truro and Penwith College.
You'll be involved in the day-to-day running of our office and supporting our team across live building, refurbishment and maintenance projects throughout Cornwall. No two days will necessarily be the same.
What you'll be doing
- Answering telephone calls and dealing with enquiries
- Managing emails and maintaining company records
- Preparing documents, quotations, reports and correspondence
- Updating spreadsheets and internal systems
- Assisting with project administration and document control
- Helping prepare Health & Safety and project paperwork
- Assisting with purchase orders and supplier information
- Liaising with clients, suppliers, subcontractors and site teams
- Supporting our Operations Manager and wider office team
- Learning how construction projects are planned, managed and delivered
You'll also gain exposure to areas such as project management, estimating, procurement, customer service and general business operations, giving you a broad understanding of how a construction company works.
About you
We're looking for someone who is:
- Enthusiastic and willing to learn
- Reliable, punctual and organised
- Comfortable using a computer and interested in developing their IT skills
- Friendly and confident communicating with others
- Able to work as part of a team
- Keen to develop a career in administration and business
No previous office or construction experience is required. We'll provide full training, mentoring and support throughout your apprenticeship.
