Overview
This is a pivotal role in our business as we launch and grow our aluminium windows product line. Using a third-party system initially (and transitioning to our own proprietary system), you will be responsible for identifying opportunities, generating sales, developing accounts, and feeding valuable market insight into product development.
You will work closely with the Head of Sales and Commercial Director and wider team to refine our offering, drive uptake with existing customers, win new business, and help shape the commercial future of our window systems.
This is a field-based role covering the North of England and occasionally Scotland, with regular travel required.
Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to
Business Development:
- Identify and convert new sales opportunities for aluminium windows with both existing and new customers.
- Develop and execute strategic plans for targeting potential customers and market sectors.
- Leverage existing industry contacts to bring in warm leads and generate immediate sales activity.
Sales Management & Sales System Development:
- Use and improve customer-facing IT systems (quotation tools, CRM, etc.) to quote and convert sales.
- Gather customer feedback and share insights to influence the design and development of our in-house window system.
Account Management:
- Manage and nurture relationships with key existing customers.
- Explore cross-selling opportunities for other products, including aluminium sliding doors and internal glass partitions which require renewed focus.
Collaboration & Commercial Input:
- Work directly with the Head of Sales and Commercial Director on pricing strategy, commercial positioning, and margin management.
- Provide structured market and customer feedback to support product refinement and competitive positioning.
Measurable KPI’s
- Report on individual progress monthly and contribute to sales meetings
- Regular reporting on sales progress/strategy to Head of Sales
- Annual progress report to Commercial Director
Regional Coverage & Representation
- Cover the North of England and Scotland, travelling regularly to customer sites, prospect meetings, and industry events.
- Represent the business professionally at trade shows, exhibitions, networking events, and customer demonstrations.
- Build strong regional relationships and increase brand awareness across the fenestration and wider construction market.
- Support customer visits to company sites where required.
Key Skills
- Proven experience in a business development or technical sales role within the glazing, fenestration, or wider construction products sector.
- Strong understanding of aluminium window and door systems – ideally from a fabrication or system house background.
- Comfortable with technical product details and capable of translating customer needs into sales and product solutions.
- Able to use and improve customer-facing quoting systems and CRM tools.
- Tenacious, self-motivated, and proactive – able to drive a new product to market with minimal hand-holding.
- Commercially astute with strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- Passionate about delivering value to customers and contributing to a growing business.
Desirable
- Experience launching a new product to market.
- Knowledge of UK fenestration market trends and competitors.
- Network of relevant industry contacts.
- Experience working with or within aluminium system houses.
