PROJECT WORKER
ADELAIDE HOUSE APPROVED PREMISES FOR WOMEN
Adelaide House is the key project of the Liverpool Diocesan Council for Social Aid (LDCSA), a registered Liverpool based Christian charity.
We are an Independent Approved Premises located in Liverpool, under contract to the Ministry of Justice to provide residential support and interventions for upto 18 adult female prison leavers. We work closely with our partner agencies to manage risk of harm, protect the public and support the female residents to make positive changes to their lives.
We are currently looking for a female project worker (Sex Discrimination Act 1975, Section 75 (2) (e) to join our small well-established team. We would welcome applications from anyone in the care/residential setting, looking for a career change as full training will be given.
This post involves working a combination of evening shifts (4pm-10pm), Saturday or Sunday (8am-8pm) and waking night shifts (10pm-8am) for an average of 32 hours per week on an 8-week rolling rota basis. All shifts are covered by at least 2 staff member’s and you will have 24 hour access to an experienced on-call manager
Annual salary is £31,126.00 (this is inclusive of unsocial hours enhancements). You will also receive 212 hours annual leave (inclusive of bank holidays) and generous employer pension contributions.
If you are interested in working in the Criminal Justice System with female prison leavers – many of whom have substance misuse and other complex needs, are a committed team worker and able to demonstrate a flexible and creative approach to help our residents to live in the community and live law abiding lives – this may be the role for you.
Ideally, the successful candidate should have experience of working with people with complex needs in a residential setting, and understand the importance of leading by example, encouragement and enthusiasm when working with this client group. This post will involve contributing to the running of the Approved Premises through completion of administrative tasks, monitoring and supporting the residents, and building professional working relationships during shifts.
We are therefore seeking a self-motivated and committed individual who has excellent communications, administrative and team-work skills. In return, you will receive regular supervision and appropriate training to further enhance your skills and development.
Due to the nature of the role this post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and the successful candidate will be subject to a check by the Disclosure and Barring Service.
