No previous experience is required — full training is provided, and you’ll be joining a friendly, supportive team.
Duties
- Assist pupils boarding and alighting from school transport vehicles in a safe and courteous manner
- Ensure the safety and wellbeing of all passengers during journeys, adhering to safety protocols at all times
- Support pupils with additional needs or mobility difficulties as required
- Maintain order on the vehicle, promoting good behaviour and respect among passengers
- Report any concerns or incidents to the appropriate authorities promptly
- Assist with vehicle checks and cleanliness to ensure a hygienic environment
- Communicate effectively with drivers, pupils, and parents as necessary
Requirements
- Excellent communication skills and a friendly demeanour
- Ability to work flexibly, including early mornings and afternoons aligned with school hours
- Basic understanding of health and safety procedures related to passenger transport
- Reliable with a responsible attitude towards safeguarding children and young people
- Previous experience working with children or in a customer service role is desirable but not mandatory
- Must be able to pass relevant background checks and safeguarding procedures
