PTS Electrician – Rail Infrastructure

Gee Communications is seeking qualified and motivated Electricians to support the delivery of rail infrastructure, station improvement projects across Wales.
This is an excellent opportunity for electricians looking to develop their careers within the rail sector. Previous railway experience is beneficial but not essential. We welcome applications from electricians with experience in commercial, industrial, construction, utilities, infrastructure and building services environments.
Working under the supervision of experienced Site supervisors, Managers and Project Engineers, you will assist with the installation, testing and commissioning of new electrical systems within live railway station environments.
The Role
As an Electrician, you will:
· Install electrical containment systems, including tray, trunking and conduit.
· Install and terminate power, control cabling.
· Install electrical distribution equipment.
· Carry out electrical testing and inspections in accordance with current regulations.
· Read and interpret electrical drawings and installation specifications.
· Ensure all works are completed safely and in accordance with site procedures and project requirements.
· Maintain high standards of workmanship, quality and Health & Safety compliance.
· Work collaboratively with project teams to deliver projects on time and to the required standards.
What We're Looking For
Essential
· Qualified Electrician (NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds or equivalent).
· 18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification.
· Experience in commercial, industrial, infrastructure, construction or similar electrical environments.
· Experience installing a range of electrical containment systems, including conduit, trunking, cable tray together with power, data and communication cabling within commercial, industrial or infrastructure environments.
· Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and specifications.
· Strong understanding of electrical installation practices and safety procedures.
· Full UK Driving Licence.
· Positive attitude and willingness to develop within the rail sector.
Desirable
· PTS certification desirable; training provided for suitable candidates.
· Previous railway or station infrastructure experience.
· Inspection and Testing qualification (City & Guilds 2391 or equivalent).
· ECS Gold Card.
· IPAF and/or PASMA certification.
· Knowledge of Network Rail standards and working practices.
· Experience working in live operational environments.
