Shift Patterns: 22.5 hours –3 days between Monday – Friday, 09:00 – 17:00

We are seeking an enthusiastic and compassionate Speech and Language Therapist to join our team, supporting adults with learning disabilities to develop their communication and maximise their independence and quality of life. The successful candidate will have experience working with adults with learning disabilities and dysphagia, with the knowledge and skills to assess, manage and provide appropriate interventions for swallowing and communication needs.
What you can add:
· Be professionally accountable for your own highly complex speech and language therapy caseload, working autonomously to deliver speech and language therapy intervention.
· Provide guidance for complex cases and continue to advance own practice in specialist area seeking guidance and advice from a variety of sources including those external to the trust for Service users with a diverse range of presentations and possible mental health conditions.
· Undertake highly complex and complex specialist speech and language therapy assessments and review, co-creates speech and language therapy goals with service users, carers and Multidisciplinary Team. Delivers speech and language therapy interventions, utilising relevant outcome measures where appropriate, responding appropriately to feedback from service users carers and others.
· Promote and maintain safety, privacy, and dignity of all patients in the delivery of patient centred care, recognising and respecting differences including spiritual and cultural beliefs.
· Recognise the potential for signs of patient harm, abuse or neglect, including poor clinical practice, reporting all such concerns and taking all reasonable steps to protect the patient with due regard to therapeutic positive risk taking and takes the lead in supporting others to do so.
· Undertakes administrative tasks in relation to own work which may include preparing high quality therapeutic resources, teaching materials and other professional literature and leads in supporting others to do so.
· Responsible for maintaining and role modelling accurate and comprehensive electronic patient records in accordance with the Trust and Professional record keeping standards.
What you’ll need:
· Hold a Degree in Speech & Language Therapy or equivalent.
· Be HCPC registered.
· Experience with Dysphagia.
· Significant experience and understanding of supporting people with learning disability, mental health conditions and autism.
· Written and verbal communication skills which allow professional information to be conveyed in an accurate and organised manner.
In addition to experience, all Qualified roles will be required to provide evidence of

· Registration with the relevant Registration Body if applicable.
