Part-Time Office Administrator (Flexible Hours)
We're a specialist staircase and fabrication business based in Halifax, and we're looking for someone to help bring structure and organisation to our growing business.
We design, manufacture and install high-quality bespoke staircases and architectural metalwork across the UK. The work we produce is something we're proud of. Now we need someone who'll take the same pride in keeping the business running smoothly behind the scenes.
What you'll be doing
Working around 8 to 10 hours per week (typically two half-days), you'll take ownership of the day-to-day administration, including:
- Tracking jobs from enquiry through to completion
- Managing customer enquiries, emails and general office administration
- Keeping spreadsheets and job records up to date
- Assisting with invoicing, purchase records and administration using Xero
- Organising paperwork and supporting the team
- Helping improve systems and processes so nothing falls through the cracks
This is a varied, hands-on role where you'll have the opportunity to make a genuine difference rather than simply processing paperwork.
What we're looking for
We're looking for someone who is:
- Highly organised and proactive
- Confident using Microsoft Excel, Outlook and everyday office software
- Comfortable using Xero (or able to learn it quickly)
- Able to work independently without constant supervision
- Reliable, practical and able to keep things moving
Experience in construction, fabrication, manufacturing or another small business would be an advantage, but attitude, organisation and common sense are more important than industry experience.
This role would suit someone who:
- Wants flexible part-time hours
- Is returning to work after raising a family
- Is looking for work around school hours or other commitments
- Enjoys bringing order to busy businesses and making a real difference
What you won't get
You won't be micromanaged.
We're looking for someone who sees what needs doing, takes ownership and enjoys improving the way a business operates.
If you're the sort of person who enjoys bringing order to chaos and takes pride in keeping things organised, we'd love to hear from you.
