Job Description:
CDH Facilities Management are looking to bring in an experienced Fire Door Installer & Inspector to support ongoing and upcoming works across residential, commercial, student accommodation and public sector environments.
This is for a price work role / subcontractor position paid per job, with the potential opportunity for a full-time permanent role available for the right candidate as the business continues to grow.
We are looking for somebody reliable, competent and professional, with a strong understanding of fire door compliance and the ability to consistently work to a high standard without constant supervision.
The Role:
You will be responsible for:
- Installation of fire doors and associated ironmongery
- Remedial works and maintenance to existing fire doors
- Ensuring all works comply with current fire safety legislation and British Standards
- Completing clear documentation and photographic evidence of completed works
- Communicating professionally with clients, residents and site teams
- Working across a range of residential, commercial and student accommodation environments
The role will involve travelling to various sites, therefore flexibility and willingness to travel is essential.
Essential Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in fire door installation, maintenance or inspection
- Proven experience fitting fire doors to a high standard
- Good understanding of passive fire protection
- Knowledge of relevant standards including BS 8214 and current fire safety regulations
- FireQual, NOCN, FIRAS, BM TRADA or equivalent recognised fire door qualification/training
- Full UK driving licence
- Own tools and transport/van
- Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
- Strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship
Desirable:
- Fire door inspection experience
- FIRAS or BM TRADA related experience
- CSCS card
- DBS check
- Experience working within social housing, student accommodation or commercial environments
