Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Deputy Manager to join our residential care home on a full-time basis. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting the management team, overseeing daily operations, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality care to residents. This role offers an opportunity to lead a compassionate team within a supportive environment specialising in assisted living, dementia care, and elderly support. The Deputy Manager will be instrumental in maintaining compliance with care standards and fostering a warm, safe, and respectful atmosphere for all residents.
Duties
- Assist the Home Manager in the day-to-day running of the care home, ensuring smooth operational functions.
- Supervise and support care staff, promoting best practices in senior care, dementia care, and medication administration.
- Oversee the implementation and review of personalised care plans tailored to individual resident needs, including Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia.
- Lead on staff rotas, training, and development programmes to ensure high standards of care delivery.
- Monitor compliance with health and safety regulations, safeguarding policies, and CQC requirements.
- Support residents with daily activities, promoting independence whilst ensuring their safety and wellbeing.
- Manage medication administration processes accurately and responsibly.
- Foster effective communication with residents’ families, healthcare professionals, and external agencies.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the home to enhance quality of life for residents.
Requirements
- Proven experience in senior care settings such as assisted living or nursing homes, with a strong understanding of dementia and Alzheimer’s care.
- Previous management or supervising experience within a care home or home care environment.
- Knowledge of care planning processes and regulatory standards governing residential care homes.
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in managing care plans and medication records.
- Compassionate approach with excellent communication skills suited for working with elderly residents and their families.
- Relevant qualifications in nursing, social work, or health & social care are highly desirable.
