Job Summary
Advokatai Ltd is an established law firm providing Personal Injury and Clinical Negligence services to clients across England and Wales.
We are looking for an ambitious, commercially minded Lithuanian-speaking Paralegal to join our small team on a part-time, remote basis.
This is not intended to be a traditional paralegal role where you simply complete tasks given to you. We are looking for someone who wants to take genuine responsibility for cases, build strong relationships with clients, help develop the business and potentially grow into a much more senior role within the firm.
For the right person, there may be an opportunity to earn an equity stake in the company and become a future business partner, subject to performance, mutual agreement and any required regulatory approval.
This opportunity would particularly suit someone whose long-term ambition is to build a successful career in law and who may ultimately aspire to help run or own a legal practice.
The successful candidate must be fluent in both Lithuanian and English. Additional languages, particularly Polish or Russian, would be a significant advantage.
Responsibilities
- Manage Personal Injury and Clinical Negligence cases from initial enquiry through the various stages of the claim, with appropriate solicitor supervision.
- Act as a main point of contact for clients and provide regular case updates in Lithuanian and English.
- Take initial instructions from new clients and gather relevant information and documentation.
- Prepare and send medical records requests and deal with medical providers, experts and other third parties.
- Review medical records, reports, correspondence and other evidence relevant to claims.
- Draft letters, emails, client correspondence and other legal documentation.
- Liaise with insurers, defendant solicitors, medical agencies, experts and other parties involved in claims.
- Maintain accurate case records and ensure deadlines and required actions are followed.
- Assist with settlement administration and client payment processes where appropriate.
- Work closely with the firm's solicitor on legal issues, case strategy and matters requiring solicitor involvement.
- Help identify and develop opportunities to attract new clients.
- Contribute to social media, marketing and business development activities where appropriate.
- Build relationships within Lithuanian and potentially other Eastern European communities in the UK.
- Take increasing responsibility for the development and growth of the firm as the role progresses.
About You
We are particularly interested in someone who is ambitious, entrepreneurial and looking for more than simply an hourly paid paralegal position — someone who would ultimately like to help build and potentially co-own a successful legal practice.
You should:
- Be fluent in Lithuanian and English.
- Have previous legal experience and/or a relevant legal education.
- Ideally have experience in Personal Injury, Clinical Negligence, RTA or another claims-related area.
- Be confident communicating directly with clients by telephone, email and messaging.
- Be able to manage multiple cases and deadlines independently.
- Have excellent written communication skills in English.
- Be organised, reliable and comfortable taking responsibility for your own workload.
- Be confident working remotely without constant supervision.
- Be willing to learn areas of Personal Injury and Clinical Negligence that you have not previously dealt with.
- Have an interest in business development and growing a legal practice.
Speaking Polish and/or Russian in addition to Lithuanian and English would be highly desirable but is not essential.
What We Offer
- £15–£18 per hour depending on experience.
- Approximately 10–15 hours per week initially.
- Fully remote / work-from-home position.
- Flexible working hours.
- Long-term permanent opportunity.
- Significant autonomy and responsibility.
- Opportunity for the role and working hours to grow alongside the business.
- Direct involvement in developing and expanding an established legal practice.
- Potential future equity/shareholding and business partnership opportunity for an exceptional long-term candidate, subject to performance, agreement and regulatory requirements.
We are not simply looking for someone to fill a vacancy. We are looking for someone who could potentially become an important part of the future of the business.
If your long-term ambition is to progress beyond a conventional paralegal role and potentially help build and run a legal practice, we would be very interested to hear from you.
