Fleet Service Coordinator
Location: Belfast / Hybrid
Salary: From £28,000 per annum, dependent on experience
Working Hours: Monday–Friday, 08:30–17:00
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
The Opportunity
As Simplicity Group continues to grow across the UK and Ireland, we're looking for an experienced, highly organised and proactive Fleet Service Coordinator to join our Fleet Operations team.
Sitting at the centre of our customers, engineers and Fleet Operations team, you'll help plan and coordinate the delivery of our connected fleet technology services across the UK and Ireland.
Your workload will be varied - from service and maintenance requirements and new vehicle installations through to larger fleet deployments involving multiple engineers, locations and significant numbers of vehicles.
This position will have a particular focus on larger customer projects and more complex fleet rollouts, taking ownership of the planning and coordination required to deliver them successfully.
We're looking for more than someone who can manage a busy diary. We want someone who can think ahead, solve problems, anticipate challenges and take ownership, while making effective use of our engineering resources and delivering an excellent customer experience.
What You'll Be Doing
Day to day, you'll:
- Plan and coordinate engineer workloads across service, maintenance, installations and fleet additions
- Schedule engineering resource based on customer requirements, geography, capacity and skill set
- Take ownership of assigned customer projects and larger fleet deployments from planning through to completion
- Build effective rollout plans around vehicle availability, locations, engineering resource and agreed timescales
- Look ahead at upcoming workload and capacity, identifying potential challenges before they impact delivery
- Optimise engineer schedules and routes to improve productivity and reduce unnecessary travel
- Liaise directly with customers to understand requirements and coordinate vehicle availability, locations and schedules
- Monitor jobs and larger projects against agreed timescales, proactively resolving risks, delays and changing requirements
- Ensure engineers have the correct information and resources required to complete scheduled work
- Work closely with our Engineering, Technical, Sales and Account Management teams
- Maintain accurate job, customer and planning information across our internal systems
- Continually look for opportunities to improve planning, engineer productivity and customer experience
For larger deployments, you'll need to look beyond individual appointments and understand how the overall project will be delivered successfully - bringing together customers, vehicles, engineers, equipment, locations, timescales and potential risks.
Who We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who combines excellent organisation with the ability to think ahead, make decisions and take ownership.
You'll ideally have:
- Previous experience in a coordination, planning, scheduling, operations or project-focused role
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making ability
- The confidence to take ownership of work and see it through to completion
- Excellent attention to detail
- The ability to remain calm and structured when priorities change
- Good commercial awareness and an appreciation of efficient resource planning
- Confidence working with customers, engineers and internal teams
- A collaborative, team-focused approach
Experience within fleet management, telematics, vehicle CCTV, automotive, field service, engineering, logistics or transport would be advantageous.
Experience coordinating larger projects, multi-site deployments or field-based engineering teams would also be a significant advantage.
One Fleet Operations Team
Our Fleet Service Coordinators operate as one team.
While individual Coordinators may take lead ownership of particular customers, workstreams or larger projects, everyone shares responsibility for effective planning and delivering an excellent customer experience.
You'll be expected to flex across the wider planning workload, support your colleagues and respond to changing customer and business priorities.
What You'll Get in Return
- Salary from £28,000 per annum, dependent on experience
- Hybrid working
- 30 days annual leave
- Company pension
- Bupa healthcare cover following probation
- Career progression and development opportunities
- Ongoing training
- Regular company and team events
