In consultation with the nursing staff respond to patient needs and liaise with other members of the multidisciplinary team as appropriate
Promote, monitor and maintain a healthy, safe and secure environment for patients, families and staff.
To assist the nurses to meet the needs of all patients
Be aware of your own responsibilities with regard to emergency situations that may occur.
To answer the telephone and refer enquiries to the appropriate nurse.
Escort patients and families who do not require a qualified nurse escort to other departments
To be responsible for the cleaning, maintenance and storage of all equipment at ward level..
Help maintain the cleanliness of the environment.
Ensure all public areas of the department are tidy.
Participate in training and development opportunities in order to enhance professional development.
To constantly maintain and develop own knowledge and expertise.
To act as an advocate for the child and family representing best interest of the child, young person in partnership with parents/carers.
To participate in staff appraisal, staff development and in-service training activities.
Identifies own learning needs and receives appropriate supervision in line with trust policy.
Able to access with appropriate training, the trusts software packages required for the trust.
