Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable Skip Driver to join our logistics team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating 18 Tone skip vehicle to safely and efficiently collect and deliver waste skips across designated routes. This role requires a professional approach to driving and customer service, ensuring timely pickups and drop-offs while maintaining high safety standards.
Duties
- Operate skip lorries for the collection and delivery of waste skips in accordance with scheduled routes
- Ensure the secure loading and unloading of skips, adhering to safety regulations at all times
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections and report any maintenance issues promptly
- Navigate urban and rural routes efficiently, demonstrating excellent driving skills
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, collections, and vehicle logs
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients regarding schedules and any delays or issues
- Follow all health and safety protocols during operations to ensure a safe working environment
Requirements
- Proven experience in commercial driving, particularly with skip lorries
- Valid driving licence suitable for operating heavy goods vehicles HGV Class 1/2
- Delivery driver experience is highly desirable
- Knowledge of local routes and traffic regulations within the area
- Ability to operate Skip equipment safely and efficiently but not necessary as training will be given
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage time effectively
- Good communication skills to liaise with clients and team members professionally
- Commitment to safety standards and adherence to company policies
Pay: £12.21-£20.00 per hour
