Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Deputy Manager to oversee Children’s Homes and Supported Accommodation services. In this vital leadership role, you will support the delivery of high-quality care for children and young people, ensuring their safety, well-being, and development. You will lead a team of care staff, manage daily operations, and implement care plans that promote positive outcomes. Your proactive approach will help create a nurturing environment where children feel valued, supported, and empowered to thrive.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Manager in leading and supervising care teams within children’s homes and supported accommodation settings
- Ensure all care practices comply with regulatory standards and organizational policies
- Support the development and implementation of individualized care plans tailored to each child's needs, including those requiring dementia or Alzheimer’s care when applicable
- Oversee medication administration procedures, ensuring accuracy and safety at all times
- Promote a safe, caring environment by conducting regular risk assessments and safeguarding checks
- Lead staff recruitment, training, supervision, and performance reviews to foster a motivated team
- Coordinate activities that support children’s emotional, social, and educational development
- Maintain detailed records of care activities, incidents, and progress reports for compliance and review purposes
Requirements
- Proven experience in assisted living or nursing home environments with a focus on senior or dementia care
- Strong background in managing or supervising care teams within care homes or home care settings
- Knowledge of care planning processes, medication management, and safeguarding procedures
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop staff members
- Experience working with children or young people in supported accommodation is highly desirable
- Excellent communication skills to liaise effectively with families, external agencies, and team members
- Relevant qualifications in nursing, social work, or health & social care are preferred; additional certifications in dementia or Alzheimer’s care are advantageous

Pay: £38,000.00-£42,000.00 per year
