Nottingham
£50,000–£55,000 per year, depending on experience. With bonuses/incentives.
Full-time | Permanent
An opportunity to build something from the beginning
We are looking for an experienced Registered Manager to lead the development and opening of a new, psychiatrist led, 3-bed children's residential home in Nottingham.
This is not simply an opportunity to take over an established home.
You will join us at an exciting stage of development and have the opportunity to shape the home from the outset – helping to build the team, culture, systems and standard of care that will define the service.
Our ambition is to create an exceptional, nurturing and well-led home where children feel safe, valued and genuinely cared for, and where staff are supported to deliver consistently high-quality care.
We are therefore looking for an experienced and ambitious Registered Manager who shares that vision and wants the opportunity to make the home their own.
The opportunity
As Registered Manager, you will take the lead in developing and managing the home and will work closely with the Responsible Individual and wider leadership team.
You will have meaningful input into:
- Recruiting and developing your staff team
- Creating a positive and child-centred culture
- Preparing the home for Ofsted registration
- Developing policies, procedures and operational systems
- Referral, assessment and placement-matching processes
- Staff training and development
- The home's Statement of Purpose
- Quality assurance and continuous improvement
- The longer-term development of the service
Once operational, you will hold responsibility for the day-to-day leadership and management of the home, ensuring children receive safe, consistent and high-quality care.
Who we are looking for
We are specifically looking for someone with significant children's residential care experience and previous experience managing a children's home.
You will be someone who combines strong regulatory knowledge with warmth, sound judgement and excellent leadership skills.
You should be confident making difficult decisions, developing staff, managing risk and creating a culture in which both children and staff can thrive.
Essential
- Previous experience managing a children's residential home
- Strong knowledge of the Children's Homes (England) Regulations 2015, Quality Standards and Ofsted framework
- Significant experience within children's residential care
- Experience supervising and managing residential childcare staff
- Strong safeguarding knowledge and practice
- Experience of quality assurance, audits and service improvement
- Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills
- Ability to lead confidently through the Ofsted registration and inspection process
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare, an appropriate equivalent qualification, or ability to meet the relevant regulatory qualification requirements
What we offer
- £50,000–£55,000 salary, plus bonuses
- The opportunity to build and shape a new children's home from the beginning
- Genuine influence over recruitment, culture and service development
- Supportive and accessible senior leadership
- Ongoing training and professional development
- Free on-site parking
- The opportunity to grow professionally and with the company as the organisation develops
Why join us?
We want to build a home that we can genuinely be proud of.
For the right Registered Manager, this is an opportunity to do more than manage somebody else's established service. You will be involved from the beginning and have the autonomy and support to help create a home with high standards, a strong team and a culture genuinely centred around the children who live there.
If you are an experienced Registered Manager who has ideas about how an excellent children's home should be run – and you want the opportunity to put those ideas into practice – we would love to hear from you.
Pay: £50,000.00-£55,000.00 per year
