Overview
This is an exciting opportunity to support local people into volunteering while helping young adults develop skills, confidence and experience that can transform their futures. You'll play a key role in strengthening the voluntary and community sector across Hillingdon, connecting volunteers with meaningful opportunities and supporting young Community Champions to improve health and wellbeing in their communities.
What You'll Be Doing
- Recruiting, interviewing and matching volunteers with local charities and community organisations
- Managing volunteer opportunities and applications through our Volunteer Hub
- Delivering volunteer inductions, outreach activities and volunteering events
- Building relationships with community groups, Jobcentre Plus, universities and youth organisations
- Supporting and developing a cohort of 18-25 year old Community Champions
- Promoting volunteering opportunities and health messages across Hillingdon
- Helping local organisations improve their volunteer recruitment and management practices
- Monitoring impact and gathering feedback to demonstrate the difference volunteering makes
What We're Looking For
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Experience of working with volunteers, community groups or young people
- Confidence engaging with people from a wide range of backgrounds
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to motivate and support others to achieve their goals
- A proactive, enthusiastic approach and willingness to work collaboratively
- Passion for volunteering, community development and improving local health and wellbeing outcomes
Pay: £26,000.00-£28,000.00 per year
