Job Overview
GES Mechanical & Electrical Ltd, trading as UK Green Energy, is looking for an experienced Solar PV Electrician to join our growing renewables team.
We are expanding our Solar PV installation programme and require a reliable, competent electrician who can carry out high-quality domestic Solar PV installations safely, efficiently and to the required standards.
The role will involve working alongside our roofing and electrical teams on mainly domestic and social housing properties, with work currently including a significant programme in the Midlands.
This is a permanent employed position with opportunities to develop as our solar and renewable energy workload continues to grow.
Responsibilities
- Installation and commissioning of domestic Solar PV systems
- Installation of inverters, isolators, generation equipment and associated electrical equipment
- AC and DC electrical installation work
- Consumer unit connections and alterations where required
- Testing, inspection and certification of completed installations
- Completing installation paperwork and test documentation
- Identifying and rectifying installation faults
- Working alongside roofers and other members of the installation team
- Ensuring installations comply with BS 7671, MCS requirements and company standards
- Maintaining a high standard of workmanship and customer service
- Following company health and safety procedures at all times
Essential Requirements
- Qualified Electrician
- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent electrical qualification
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations
- Inspection and Testing qualification
- Experience installing Solar PV systems
- Good understanding of domestic electrical installations
- Ability to test, fault-find and certify your own work
- Full UK driving licence
- Comfortable working away from home when required
- Reliable, organised and able to work as part of a team
Desirable
- Solar installation qualification
- Battery storage experience
- EV charger experience
- Experience working on social housing contracts
- MCS installation experience
- ECS/CSCS card
- Working at Height training

Working Hours
Monday to Friday
Some travelling and working away will be required depending on the location of projects.
