We are looking for a skilled and passionate Classic Volkswagen Restoration Technician to join our growing workshop. If you take pride in bringing classic air-cooled Volkswagens back to life and have experience across bodywork, paint, welding, and mechanics, we'd love to hear from you.
Working on iconic VW campers and classic Beetles, you'll be involved in complete restorations—from rusty shells to show-quality finished vehicles.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out structural and panel welding to a high standard.
- Complete body repairs, preparation, and paintwork.
- Diagnose, repair, and rebuild classic air-cooled VW mechanical systems.
- Perform servicing, engine work, suspension, brakes, steering, and transmission repairs.
- Assemble restored vehicles to a high-quality finish.
- Identify restoration requirements and work independently to solve problems.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe workshop.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Proven experience restoring classic air-cooled Volkswagen vehicles.
- Strong MIG welding and fabrication skills.
- Experience with vehicle preparation and spray painting.
- Excellent mechanical knowledge of classic VW engines, gearboxes, suspension, and braking systems.
- Ability to work from your own initiative and manage projects from start to finish.
- High attention to detail with pride in producing exceptional workmanship.
- Full UK driving licence
Desirable
- Experience with VW Type 2 Split Screen, Bay Window, T25, Beetle, Karmann Ghia, or Type 3 models.
- Fabrication and custom modification experience.
- Electrical fault-finding on classic vehicles.
