Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Senior Care Assistant to join our team within a reputable care home environment. Hours and shift patter to be discussed, providing vital support to our residents and ensuring the delivery of high-quality care. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership qualities, excellent communication skills, and a genuine passion for senior care. Experience in supervising and working within care plans is highly desirable, along with the ability to adapt to the needs of our residents.
Duties
- Provide personalised care and support to residents in accordance with their individual care plans
- Assist residents with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, eating, and mobility
- Supervise and mentor junior staff members, fostering a supportive team environment
- Maintain accurate documentation of care provided, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards
- Support residents’ emotional wellbeing through empathetic communication and companionship
- Assist with medication administration as per prescribed care protocols
- Contribute to the organisation of activities and social events to promote resident engagement
- Ensure the safety and dignity of all residents at all times, adhering to health and safety policies
Qualifications
- Previous experience in senior care or a care home setting is preferred
- Supervising experience within a care environment is highly advantageous
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide team members
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to develop and follow detailed care plans tailored to individual needs
- Proficient IT skills for maintaining accurate records and documentation
- Valid driving licence is desirable for supporting residents’ outings or appointments
- Compassionate nature with a genuine interest in providing high standards of senior care
