About Us
Drysdale Brothers is a leading UK non-ferrous foundry specialising in the manufacture of high-quality bronze and aluminium bronze castings. With over 70 years of foundry experience, we manufacture components for a wide range of industries including Oil & Gas, Marine, Fire, Fluid Handling, MOD and Mining.
We are currently looking for a Core Shop Operative to join our production team at our foundry in Stenhousemuir.
The Role
Working within our Core Shop, you will be responsible for the assembly, preparation and coating of sand cores used in our casting process.
This is a hands-on production role where attention to detail and consistent workmanship are important. You will work as part of our foundry team to ensure cores are prepared to the required quality and are ready for use in production.
Key Responsibilities
- Assemble sand cores accurately in accordance with production requirements.
- Prepare and fit individual core sections to create completed core assemblies.
- Apply core coatings/washes to the required standard.
- Carry out finishing and preparation work on cores where required.
- Inspect cores for defects, damage or quality issues before they are released to production.
- Handle cores carefully to minimise damage and maintain product quality.
- Follow job instructions, drawings and established production procedures.
- Maintain a clean, tidy and safe working area.
- Work closely with other members of the Core Shop and Foundry teams to meet production requirements.
- Follow all company Health & Safety procedures and wear the appropriate PPE.
- Carry out other reasonable production duties as required.
About You

- Be willing to learn our processes and develop their foundry skills.
Previous foundry or core shop experience would be advantageous but is not essential, as training can be provided for the right candidate.
Experience in manufacturing, engineering, production, assembly or a similar industrial environment would also be beneficial.
