We're looking for an Early Years Assistant to join our friendly nursery team. What you'll be doing
As an Early Years Assistant, you'll work alongside our experienced practitioners to provide outstanding care and learning experiences for children aged 3 months to 5 years.
You'll:
- Help create a safe, caring and stimulating environment where children feel happy, secure and confident to explore.
- Support the planning and delivery of engaging play-based activities that encourage children's learning and development.
- Build warm, positive relationships with children, supporting their emotional wellbeing, confidence and independence.
- Assist with daily routines, including mealtimes, sleep routines, personal care and hygiene where appropriate.
- Encourage children's early communication, literacy, numeracy and social development through play and everyday interactions.
- Help prepare learning resources and maintain clean, organised and welcoming learning environments.
- Build positive relationships with parents and carers, contributing to effective communication and partnership working.
- Work closely with colleagues to ensure high standards of safeguarding, health and safety and children's wellbeing are maintained at all times.
- Take part in team meetings, training and professional development opportunities to continue building your Early Years knowledge and skills.
We're looking for someone who has:
- Previous experience working in a nursery, preschool, childcare or other Early Years setting.
- A genuine passion for working with babies and young children.
- An understanding of the EYFS, safeguarding and child protection.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- A caring, positive and proactive approach.
- A willingness to learn, develop and build a long-term career in Early Years.
You don't need a formal Early Years qualification for this role; however, previous nursery or childcare experience and a good understanding of working with young children are essential.
