Workshop Technician – UKDPF
Location: UKDPF & Fylde Autocare, Blackpool
Salary: Dependent on experience and the skills you can bring to the role
Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm (No weekends)
Join Our Team
We're looking for someone to manage the day-to-day running of UKDPF, our specialist DPF cleaning service, while working as part of the wider Fylde Autocare team.
This is a varied role where no two days are the same. Your primary responsibility will be collecting, cleaning and returning Diesel Particulate Filters (DPFs), organising your own workload and representing UKDPF professionally when visiting garages across the local area.
We'll provide full training on our specialist DPF cleaning process, so previous experience isn't necessary.
Because DPF work naturally fluctuates throughout the week, we're ideally looking for someone with mechanical experience or another practical workshop skill who can support the wider Fylde Autocare team when things are quieter. Whether you're an experienced mechanic looking for a change of pace, a tyre fitter, fabricator or simply someone with a practical background, we'd love to hear from you.
This role would suit someone who's organised, self-motivated and enjoys working independently without needing to be micromanaged. You'll have the freedom to organise your own day while knowing the rest of the team is always there to support you when needed.
What You'll Be Doing
- Collecting and returning DPFs to trade customers.
- Carrying out our specialist DPF cleaning process (full training provided).
- Planning your own daily workload and collection routes.
- Speaking with customers and building strong working relationships.
- Processing invoices and payments.
- Representing UKDPF professionally when visiting garages across the local area.
When DPF work is quieter, you'll support the Fylde Autocare workshop in areas that match your skills and experience. This may include servicing, brakes, general mechanical repairs, tyre fitting, fabrication or general workshop duties.
About You
We're looking for someone who:
- Holds a full UK driving licence.
- Is organised, reliable and can work independently.
- Is confident dealing with customers and enjoys building relationships.
- Uses their initiative and manages their own workload.
- Takes pride in their work and represents the business professionally.
- Has a practical, hands-on background.
- Enjoys being part of a team and is happy to get involved wherever needed.
Mechanical experience would be a significant advantage, but it isn't essential. What matters most is finding someone with the right attitude, a willingness to learn and another practical skill that can benefit the workshop when DPF work is quieter.
