The Role
Are you looking for a rewarding role where you can make a real difference to the lives of our residents? We are looking for an enthusiastic and reliable Kitchen Assistant to join our catering team. You’ll play a vital part in ensuring our residents enjoy nutritious meals in a clean, safe, and welcoming environment.
Working Pattern
- Hours: 30 hours per week.
- Rota: 3 days over 7 on a rota basis
- Weekends: Shift pattern will include some weekend work.
Key Responsibilities
- Assisting the Chef with basic food preparation (chopping veg, preparing snacks, etc.).
- Ensuring the kitchen, dining areas, and equipment are kept spotlessly clean.
- Operating the dishwasher and managing hand-washing of pots and pans.
- Assisting with the service of meals to residents.
- Maintaining high standards of food hygiene and health & safety at all times.
What We’re Looking For
- A friendly, "can-do" attitude and a team-player mindset.
- High standards of cleanliness and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills, especially when interacting with elderly residents.
- Previous experience in a kitchen or care setting is a plus, but full training will be provided.
Important Requirements
This position is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. The successful applicant will be required to undertake an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check
