Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Database Administrator to join our innovative team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for managing, maintaining, and optimizing our database systems to ensure seamless data flow and integrity across the organization. Your expertise will drive performance improvements, support application development, and uphold the security and stability of our data infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain robust database systems ensuring high availability and reliability.
- Perform routine database administration tasks including backups, recovery, and security management.
- Conduct performance tuning and optimization of SQL queries and database configurations to enhance efficiency.
- Develop and enforce standards for database design, development, and documentation.
- Collaborate with development teams to support application integration using technologies such as Java, PL/SQL, and SSIS (SQL Server Integration Services).
- Monitor database health, troubleshoot issues proactively, and implement solutions to prevent downtime.
- Write complex SQL scripts, stored procedures, and shell scripts (Bash/Unix shell) for automation and data processing tasks on Linux environments.
Skills
- Extensive experience with relational database management systems including MySQL, Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, and PostgreSQL.
- Strong proficiency in SQL programming language for querying, scripting, and data manipulation.
- Knowledge of database design principles to create scalable, secure, and efficient schemas.
- Familiarity with Linux operating systems and shell scripting (Bash/Unix shell) for automation tasks.
- Experience with Java development environments for integrating databases with applications.
- Understanding of SSIS for data integration workflows within SQL Server environments.
Pay: £86,000.00 per year
