Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and hardworking Labourer to join our Family run business as a Pallet Repairer / Labourer.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for manufacturing bespoke pallets, crates and cradles, repairing wooden pallets and completing tasks relevant to the needs of the business. This role requires physical stamina as includes heavy lifting, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn.
Our normal working week is Monday - Friday, 7:30am > 3:30pm. Full time will get 2 x 30 min paid breaks each day, so you work 35 hours but get paid for 40 hours.
We are willing to be flexible with the days / hours for the right candidate.
Holiday entitlement is 20 days plus 8 bank holidays each year for Full Time. Part Time holiday days are worked out pro rata.
Responsibilities
- Manufacture bespoke wooden pallets, crates + cradles
- Repair wooden pallets using hand / air tools
- Strip pallets into their component parts using a Pallet Stripping machine
- Perform general site maintenance, including cleaning and organising work areas and work load.
- Follow instructions from manager to complete tasks effectively.
- Operate basic tools and machinery as required, adhering to safety protocols - training will be provided.
- Adhere to Health + Safety policy
- Be able to manage your own time
Requirements
- MUST be reliable.
- Experience in the pallet industry is preferred
- Nail gun experience is preferred but training can be provided.
- Ability to perform physical tasks / manual labour
- Good communication skills and the ability to work well alone or within a small team.
- Willingness to learn new skills and take on additional responsibilities as needed.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe working environment and following health and safety regulations.
