Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Deputy Home Manager to support the effective running of our childrens care home specialising in Theraputic Parenting follwing the PACE model care, including dementia and Alzheimer's care. The successful candidate will assist the Home Manager in overseeing daily operations, ensuring high standards of resident care, and maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a background in nursing, assisted living, or home care to develop their management skills within a compassionate environment. The Deputy Home Manager will be paid for their contributions and play a vital role in fostering a safe, respectful, and nurturing atmosphere for residents and staff alike.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Home Manager in coordinating all aspects of home operations, including staff supervision, resident care planning, and compliance monitoring.
- Support medication administration procedures in accordance with healthcare regulations and best practices.
- Supervise and mentor care staff, promoting professional development and ensuring adherence to care standards.
- Ensure the safety and wellbeing of residents by maintaining high standards of cleanliness, safety protocols, and infection control measures.
- Liaise with healthcare professionals, families, and external agencies to facilitate comprehensive resident support.
- Contribute to staff scheduling, training programmes, and performance appraisals to maintain a motivated team.
- Assist in managing budgets, stock levels, and administrative duties necessary for smooth home operations.
Skills
- Proven experience in assisted living or nursing home environments with a strong understanding of senior care needs.
- Knowledge of OFSTED and theraputic child care care best practices.
- Experience in developing and implementing personalised care plans.
- Strong leadership qualities with previous supervisory or management experience within a care setting.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to supervise multiple tasks efficiently.
- Compassionate approach combined with effective communication skills suitable for working with residents, families, and team members.
- Familiarity with medication administration procedures and compliance requirements in healthcare settings.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure whilst maintaining high standards of resident safety and dignity.
