CDT Security Fencing Ltd are a fencing manufacturer based in the Fenton area of Stoke-on-Trent, manufacturing all types of steel security fencing and bespoke fabrications to the fencing and landscaping industry. Due to continued growth, we are currently seeking a company buyer to manage supplier relationships, ensuring the timely acquisition of materials and services at competitive prices across our business.
This is a full-time role, working 8.00 am – 5 pm Monday-Thursday and 8.00 am – 2 pm Friday; and is an office-based role.
Working within our growing business, whilst the successful candidate will lead the procurement of all materials required within our business, you will drive cost savings, manage stock levels and support the company’s growth and innovation objectives.
Duties and responsibilities
· Source and negotiate with suppliers to secure competitive and timely deliveries
· Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers.
· Identify and evaluate potential suppliers, both domestic and international, to meet quality, cost and delivery requirements.
· Drive cost reduction initiatives whilst maintaining product quality and supplier reliability.
· Monitor stock levels and forecast requirements effectively, and organise regular stock takes to aid in accuracy of stock levels.
· Purchasing goods and services to meet the requirements of the business, raising orders via our ordering software.
· Identify new or improved products available from new or existing suppliers.
Experience and skills (essential)
· Minimum of 2 years in a purchasing role.
· Experience in steel procurement.
· Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
· Strong negotiation and communication skills.
Experience and skills (desirable)
· Full UK driving license
· Experience in the fencing industry
Salary and Benefits
· Salary £25,000-35,000k, dependent upon experience, skills and qualifications.
· Monday- Friday (including 2 pm finish on a Friday)
