Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Chef / Cook to join our family run pub. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing dishes, supervising kitchen operations, and ensuring food safety standards are maintained. Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes and standards
- Supervise kitchen staff, including training and mentoring junior team members
- Oversee food production processes to ensure efficiency, quality, and consistency
- Manage food safety procedures, including hygiene standards and proper storage practices
- Coordinate with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service delivery
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area at all times
- Assist in menu planning and development based on seasonal ingredients and customer preferences
- Monitor inventory levels and order supplies as needed to ensure continuous operation
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations within the kitchen environment
Experience
- Proven experience in a professional kitchen setting, ideally within a restaurant or hospitality environment
- Supervising experience is highly desirable, demonstrating leadership skills in managing teams
- Strong background in food preparation, cooking techniques, and culinary arts
- Knowledge of food safety standards and best practices in hygiene management
- Experience with food production processes, including plating and presentation skills
- Familiarity with serving procedures and customer service within a hospitality context
- Previous experience in restaurant or catering services is advantageous, showcasing adaptability across various culinary settings

Pay: £13.50-£15.00 per hour
