Overview
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Cafe Assistant to join our vibrant team. This role involves providing excellent customer service, preparing food and beverages, and maintaining a clean and welcoming environment. The ideal candidate will be passionate about delivering high standards of food safety and customer satisfaction, with previous experience in a café or similar setting being advantageous. Responsibilities
- Serve customers promptly and courteously, taking orders accurately and efficiently
- Prepare a variety of food and beverages, including hot drinks, sandwiches, and snacks
- Ensure all food safety standards are adhered to at all times
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations, dining areas, and equipment to uphold hygiene standards
- Manage stock levels and notify management of supplies needed
- Handle cash transactions accurately using the till system
- Assist with organising displays and ensuring the café is tidy and inviting
- Support team members during busy periods to ensure smooth operations
Experience
- Previous experience as a barista or in a customer-facing food service role is desirable but not essential; training will be provided
- Knowledge of food safety regulations is beneficial
- Experience in serving customers with professionalism and friendliness
- Basic maths skills for handling cash and processing transactions effectively
- Strong time management skills to prioritise tasks during busy periods
- Ability to work efficiently within a team in a fast-paced environment
