Early Years Teaching Assistant
We are recruiting for a school in Blackburn, that is looking for a compassionate, hardworking and empathetic Early Years Teaching Assistant. This is a lovely opportunity to support young children with additional needs at a vital stage of their development, within a setting that truly puts children at the forefront of everything they do.
About The School
The school is a supportive, community-focused setting with a strong emphasis on early intervention and emotional wellbeing. Staff work closely together to ensure every child feels seen, safe and valued, particularly those with additional needs. The Early Years environment is carefully designed to be calm, engaging and responsive, allowing children to explore, regulate and learn at their own pace. Emotional wellbeing is prioritised alongside academic development because the school recognises that confident, happy children are better able to learn.
As an Early Years TA, you will:
· Provide 1:1 and small-group support for children with SEND (including ASD, speech & language needs and social-emotional needs)
· Support learning through play-based, child-led activities
· Help children develop communication, independence and confidence
· Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO and wider staff team
· Support children with personal care, routines and emotional regulation
Qualifications & Requirements
· Minimum qualifications required – A recognised Teaching Assistant qualification or a background in education or care (NVQ, CACHE, Degree or equivalent)
· Experience supporting children with SEND
· Passionate working with young children or adults with disabilities

Role Type: Full Time/ Part Time/ Temp – Perm
Pay Rate: £14.60 - £16.90 per hour

8:30am-3:30pm

Safeguarding children is an integral part of what we do and we have a stringent safer recruitment process. We undertake checks on all the candidates we work with. As such we require a current Enhanced DBS Disclosure for everyone working in Schools. If you do not have a subscription to the DBS Update Service, you may be required to complete a new DBS application as part of the registration process. If you take a temporary role with Sense Education you will be paid on a weekly basis. All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position but long term. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
Pay: £14.60-£16.90 per hour
