Café & Kitchen Assistant / Barista (Full-Time)

We are an independent café looking for an enthusiastic and reliable Café & Kitchen Assistant / Barista to join our friendly team.
This is a hands-on role supporting the day-to-day running of the café, including preparing quality coffee and food, serving customers, and helping to maintain a welcoming environment. You will work as part of a small team in a busy café where customer service and attention to detail are important.
Key Responsibilities:
- Welcome and serve customers with a friendly and professional attitude
- Take orders, process payments, and operate the till system
- Prepare a range of hot and cold drinks, including speciality coffee
- Assist with food preparation such as sandwiches, salads, and other café items
- Keep the café, counter, and customer areas clean and organised
- Check stock levels and inform the team when supplies need replenishing
- Follow food safety, hygiene, and health & safety procedures
- Answer customer questions and assist with dietary requests where required
About You:
- Previous barista experience is essential
- Experience working in a café, restaurant, or hospitality environment is preferred
- Available to work weekends, including Saturdays and Sundays
- Comfortable handling payments and using EPOS/till systems
- Able to work efficiently in a busy environment
- Positive attitude with good communication skills
- Enjoy working as part of a team
- Basic understanding of food hygiene standards
