Duties
- Assist with food preparation, including chopping, assembling, and portioning ingredients in accordance with menu requirements
- Serve meals to students and staff in a friendly, efficient manner, ensuring proper presentation and portion control
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in kitchen and serving areas by following food safety protocols
- Support the setup and breakdown of dining areas before and after service times
- Manage stock levels by monitoring supplies and assisting with inventory checks
- Promote upselling of meal options or additional items to enhance revenue opportunities during service
- Follow health and safety regulations diligently, reporting any hazards or incidents promptly
Skills
- Experience in food preparation or working within a restaurant or catering environment is highly desirable
- Knowledge of food safety procedures and hygiene standards to ensure safe handling of all food items
- Strong serving skills with a friendly, approachable manner that fosters positive interactions with students and staff
- Basic math skills for handling cash transactions or measuring ingredients accurately
- Kitchen experience or culinary background that supports efficient meal assembly and presentation
- Excellent time management to handle multiple tasks during busy service periods effectively
- Ability to upsell menu items confidently while maintaining excellent customer service standards
Pay: From £16.00 per hour
