Job Summary
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Outdoor Learning Lead to inspire children through engaging outdoor educational activities. This position offers an exciting opportunity to foster early childhood development by integrating nature-based learning with fun, hands-on experiences. The ideal candidate will bring energy, creativity, and expertise in working with young children to promote their physical, social, and cognitive growth in outdoor settings.
Duties
- Design and implement dynamic outdoor learning programs that promote exploration, curiosity, and skill development.
- Lead outdoor activities that incorporate elements of physical education, environmental awareness, and sensory play.
- Support children’s emotional well-being by managing behavior positively and encouraging teamwork.
- Collaborate with preschool teachers, special education staff, and caregivers to tailor activities to individual needs.
- Maintain safety standards by supervising children closely during outdoor sessions and conducting regular risk assessments.
- Document children’s progress through observations and provide feedback to parents and team members.
- Mentor junior staff or volunteers in outdoor education techniques and child engagement strategies.
Requirements
- Proven experience working with children in early childhood education or childcare settings.
- Strong knowledge of child development principles, including special education needs and behavior management.
- Experience teaching physical education or outdoor activities.
- Excellent communication skills for engaging with children, parents, and team members effectively.
- Ability to plan, organise, and adapt activities based on children’s interests and developmental stages.
- Passion for outdoor education with a proactive attitude towards safety and child well-being.
- QTS/ EYT/ Level 3 Childcare qualification

Pay: £29,120.00-£31,200.00 per year
