Slip and Slide Oxford is an exciting outdoor family attraction, providing a safe, fun, and memorable experience for visitors of all ages. We are looking for enthusiastic, reliable, and customer-focused team members to join our food and retail team.
The Role
As a Food & Retail Assistant, you will help provide excellent customer service across our food vendors, tuck shop and entrance gate. This is a varied, hands-on role that involves serving customers, handling payments, preparing and selling food items, and helping ensure the smooth day-to-day operation of the event.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and sell fresh strawberries and other food and drink items.
- Serve customers efficiently from our food vendor units and tuck shop.
- Operate the till and process cash and card payments accurately.
- Replenish stock and keep displays clean, organised and well presented.
- Welcome customers and assist with admissions at the entrance gate.
- Provide friendly and professional customer service at all times.
- Maintain high standards of food hygiene and cleanliness.
- Follow all food safety and health and safety procedures.
- Work closely with colleagues to ensure the smooth running of the event.
Essential Requirements
We are looking for people who are:
- Friendly, enthusiastic and approachable.
- Reliable, punctual and able to work as part of a team.
- Confident communicating with members of the public.
- Comfortable working outdoors in a variety of weather conditions.
- Able to carry out the physical activities required for the role throughout a shift, including standing for extended periods, moving stock and maintaining busy service areas.
- Willing to follow food hygiene and health and safety procedures.
Desirable
- Previous experience in customer service, hospitality, catering, retail or events.
- Food Hygiene Certificate (training can be provided if required).
- Experience operating a till or handling cash.
